How Do I Know If My Pet Needs Physical Therapy?

·Has your animal had a recent, past or chronic injury, accident or trauma which is apparently causing pain or poor movement?

· Has your animal had a recent surgery? (Orthopedic & Neurological surgeries in the human field are ALWAYS followed by physical therapy.)

· Is your animal not functioning or performing to the best of his/her ability?
(whether unable to go over a jump or just get up and down the stairs!)

· Has your animal developed a behavioral problem for no apparent reason?

· Does your animal have a sore back when you pet or brush it?

· Has your pet developed weakness anywhere?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, then your pet may benefit from a physical therapy assessment and treatments!

When looking for a physical therapist or ANY animal health care practitioner, make sure you look for:

1. Qualifications
2. A thorough physical examination
3. Scientific rationale for treatment
4. Good communication skills
5. References
